Dr. Eric D. Hart began his tenure with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund on January 19, 2021 as the Chief Programs Officer. As CPO, he is responsible for the overall direction of Scholarships, Teacher Quality and Retention (TQRP), Talent Acquisition, Leadership Institute, and a host of other signature corporate partnership programs.

Prior to joining TMCF, Dr. Hart served as Deputy Athletics Director at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. As Deputy AD, he was responsible for providing strategic leadership for external relations for the athletic department, including major gift fundraising for the Aggie Athletic Foundation (AAF). During his time, the AAF achieved record fundraising in excess of $1M for two consecutive years. In addition to fundraising, Hart supervised sports programs; introduced a robust procedural roadmap for onboarding new employees of the department; helped launch the 1st Pitch Baseball Banquet and successfully negotiated Football Bowl Subdivisional (FBS) and Football Championship Subdivisional (FCS) contracts for N.C. A&T football.

Dr. Hart earned a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University, a master’s degree from the University of Georgia, and his doctorate degree from East Tennessee State University. Hart is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and is a member of the Rotary Club of Greensboro. He has served higher education in academic and athletic administration for more than twenty years, including successful tenures at the University of Georgia, the University of Tennessee, Appalachian State University, and Delaware State University, in addition to A&T. He is happily married to Erin Hill Hart, a senior higher education administrator and they are the proud parents of sons Ethan and Evan.
