Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and Broadridge Financial are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of TMCF’s member-schools that include 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Twenty-four (24) scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship up to $10,000 for the 2021- 2022 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full-time as a freshman, sophomore, and junior at a TMCF member-school during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
  • For Incoming Freshmen – Provide proof of acceptance into or enrollment at a TMCF member-schools as an incoming freshman during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  • Open to all majors
    Encourage students with Technology, Computer Science, Business and related majors to apply
  • Scholarship recipients (sophomore and juniors) only must complete a required 2022 Broadridge summer internship.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

How to Apply

All Applicants Must:

  • Provide a copy of the 2021-2022 FAFSA Student Aid Report.
  • Provide the transcript (official or unofficial) for your most recently completed academic term-this should include your end of Fall/ 2020-2021 grades and cumulative GPA.
  • For Incoming Freshman – Provide the high school transcript (official or unofficial) from your most recently completed academic term. This should include your Fall/ 2020-2021 and a cumulative GPA.
  • Please provide an email address for one recommender to complete a character reference form. They will be required to answer three questions regarding your character reference.
  • Answer the following questions:
    • Essay Question (Maximum of 250 words per question)
      • Tell us about your interest in the financial technology industry.)
    • Hirevue Questions
      • How have you been a leader or displayed leadership?
      • How are you going to contribute to your college community?
