Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and the Walmart Foundation are proud to offer mentor positions to outstanding students attending TMCF’s 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) or Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Selected students will provide mentorship and guidance and facilitate student engagement with the Walmart Foundation first-generation scholars as they adjust to the academic and social environment on campus. The mentorship will pay a stipend of $500 ($250 at the end of each of the fall and spring semesters).

Program Eligibility:

• Be enrolled full-time as a junior, senior, or graduate student at a TMCF member-school during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
• Current cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
• Must have submitted a completed 2021-2022 FAFSA to your current or prospective College or University.
• Able to demonstrate leadership abilities.
• Able to dedicate time to meet monthly with assigned 2021-2022 Walmart Foundation First-Generation Scholars.
• Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

• Provide the transcript (official or unofficial) for your most recently completed academic term. This should include your Spring 2021 grades and cumulative GPA.
